A person who spiked treats with sedative and provided them to children at a youth camp in Leicestershire has admitted sexual crimes against two young males aged nine and ten years old.
The defendant was detained after eight minors and a grown-up experienced illness at Stathern Lodge in the summer month.
The senior citizen, from the Nottinghamshire area, pleaded guilty to a multiple criminal counts when he appeared at the courthouse on the end of the week.
However, he denied a single sexual charge he was accused of, which was against a nine-year-old boy.
The defendant was kept in jail prior to a further hearing on November 28th.
'Treat game'
The prosecutor, presenting evidence, described Ruben's offending to the court.
She stated his those affected were children from difficult backgrounds who were participating in a summer camp which he managed.
Ruben conducted a "sweet game" with the minors, the prosecutor stated, in which he would go into the boys' rooms when they were getting ready for bed and ask them to consume candy "as fast as possible".
She stated to the judge the man had engaged in this activity with the young males "for many years", and children had previously become sick the next day.
She stated the defendant had been able to explain this over a long period as the youngsters being "overstimulated by activities", until his stepchild had concerns in summer 2025.
The legal representative continued: "Recently" his stepchild had worries about the activities, justifiably.
"They resolved" to have a look in the individual's items."
The prosecutor stated materials including baby oil, ointment and medical needles were discovered, and his family member contacted the police about his suspicions.
She stated the defendant proceeded to play the "treat game" with six youngsters that time - that Saturday - and they were everyone unwell the following morning.
"Authorities" had not responded by that point," she continued.
The police watchdog, the investigative body, earlier informed that it was reviewing law enforcement's management of the incident.
The prosecutor stated the youngsters were unable to walk properly due to being ill, so the stepson called the police again.
She said the defendant then conducted the "treat game" in a room of five children.
